Aselia. The planet said to be Sylvarant and Tethealla combined. It is the world where all the characters (except Dhaos) lives in. The atmosphere is similar to medieval times. The races are either monsters, humans, half-elves, and elves. The moons are said to be Sylarant and Tethealla.

Derris-Kharlan. The homeland of Dhaos, where Mana is essential to life.

Elf. The unique race who held a long lifespan, beauty, and long ears. They also have the ability to use magic. For years, they lived in harmony until the Valhalla War occured. Wanting no part in the humans' problems, they isolated themselves in Ymir Forest. They hold a bit of superiority complex.

Half-Elf. A breed formed by the reproduction of an elf and a human. Half-elves were scorned by elves for their cooperation to help the humans during the Valhalla War, as well as their inferiority. They have been discriminated for long years. Arche is a half elf.

HP. Hit points - or stamina of a character. When the HP reaches 0, the character becomes inactive until revived either by an inn, a spell, or an item.

Mana. The source which is stored in the Yggdrasil. Though mana is necessary for inventions, magic, and healing, it is possible to live without the use of mana. But just like any non-renewable resource in real life, mana is depleted so much by humans, especially during the Valhalla War. Dhaos seeks the seed within the Yggdrasil in order to save his home, which is vital to his people.

Mystik Cannon. A cannon created by humans with the aid of Half-elves. It uses mana directly from the Yggdrasil to cause devastating damage to Dhaos's army. However, become of overpowering, it malfunctions and accidently destroys Midgard.

Pacts. An oath given by a summoner to a Summon Spirit. Rings are a symbol of that pact. By this pact, both are entitled to follow their compromise.

Rheiards. A flying craft enabling travel from a high distance. The only way of charging them up is by Volt's power.

Spells. A magic chant that allows that particular person to create unearthly use of matter. Spells may be summoning, white magic, or black magic. They will always have a seal when cast. Only Mint, Klarth, and Arche are able to use this system.

Summoning. A system in which one who holds a pact with a Summon Spirit acquires the ability to summon them in battle until an agreement. In this case, humans are able to use magic in a way without being elves. Klarth is the only human we see use this system.

Summon Spirits. Beings of elements who depend on mana. Normally, they do not interfer with humans, but with a pact, they may be summoned in battle. The summon spirits are: Sylph (wind), Undine (water), Ifrit (fire), Gnome (earth), Maxwell (non-elemental), Luna (light), Volt (lightning), Aska (light), Shadow (dark), Gremlin (non-elemental), Chameleon (non-elemental - 1HKO), Pluto (non-elemental - Remakes only).

Techniques. A character's special abilities unique to them. No character has the same move, and each require a certain amount of TP.

TP. Game-wise, the limit amount of technique points for a character to use in battle. As they level up, their TP grows. At the end of each battle, TP grows in a small percentage.

Valhalla War. The long-ranging war in which the humans fought demons at the Valhalla Plains to attack Dhaos' castle. Behind the scenes was the development of the Mystik Cannon, which used so much mana that it nearly killed the Yggdrasil. Dhaos only declared war against the humans in order to save the Yggdrasil's mana.

Yggdrasil. The tree, based on Norse mythology, which holds all the mana of the world. Martel is the representive spirit of the tree. Originally, the Yggdrasil died during the Valhalla War, but when the Heroes of Time arrived, the tree is brought back to life by Mint. It was named by Lloyd Irving centuries ago after the half-elf Mithos Yggdrasil.
