Tales of Phantasia
The game that started it all. Developed by Wolf Team in par with NAMCO, it was a smash RPG hit, as it was described to be one of the many great games during the video game "Golden Age" along with other titles. It also ranked as the top RPG at that time, first would be Dragon Quest. There were many accomplishments this game produced. Most notably would be the first time a SFC would include voicing, including a whole song by Yukari Yoshida. The graphics were also greatly detailed and sharp. The gameplay was also a new twist from the usual menu-styled battles on RPGs at the time. Sadly, this game isn't well known elsewhere as it was only released in Japan and never translated. However, fan translation have been made for those seeking to play it. Various remakes of this game are made, for info on changes, please read the changes page.

Tales of Phantasia: Narikiri Dungeon
This game was released for the Gameboy Color, though it wasn't as popular as the first game. This is what truly started the Narikiri Dungeon games - with main characters Mel and Dio who are able to shapeshift different classes based on items they wear. The original cast members of ToP make more than a cameo, as the game centers the plot afterwards in Aselia. Mel and Dio can go back in time and help those in need with problems, including those of the ToP. As a father, you console the two and raise them well. This game, while mistakened as a remake, was very in-depth to the feelings of the cast members, and brought quite innovating questions that needed a second glance answering.

Tales of the World: Summoner's Lineage
This game should really be renamed Tales of Phantasia: Summoner's Lineage as unlike the other Tales of the World mini-series, it has nothing to do with the other Tales games, only ToP. This game was released for the Game Boy Advance, yet features a strategy gameplay instead of the usual. You are also able to "capture" monsters and add them to your party to raise for combat. For a large board, you will need a lot of hands - including the ToP cast. Though not truly a sequel, the members play a role in the story, as Fulein, Klarth's descendant, saves the world from a unknown and unloved foe. This game is based on another game, Pocket King.

Tales of Symphonia
Though a complete different story and characters, this game should be mentioned as it takes place years before Tales of Phantasia. The tree, Yggdrasil, is named in this game by Lloyd Irving, the main character, at the end. Martel and the world of Aselia is also mentioned in the plot. This game was released in the Nintendo Gamecube, but was a smash hit as one of the few innovating RPGs on that console. Due to Tales of Symphonia's popularity, it also influence the translations of several other Tales games, after a whole drought due to the failure of Tales of Destiny and Tales of Eternia/Destiny 2.

Cameos

Tales of the World: Narikiri Dungeon 2/3: Released for the Gameboy Advance, it features appearances of nearly all the playable characters of the Tales series. For a fan treat, they could make parties of any character, and even dress up like them with the main characters Frio and Kyaro (untranslated names, but most notably these names). The graphics are also beyond the chibi style and influence the more "mature" sprites that are used after Tales of Eternia.

Tales of the World: Radiant Mythology: Once more, similar to the the previous game, it features cameo appearances of the Tales characters, including the newer members like Tales of Rebirth and Tales of the Abyss. Released for the PSP and to be translated elsewhere soon.

Tales of the Fandom, vol. 1 & 2: This is a unique game that focus more on character development than gameplay. In fact, most you do is talk to the various members of the Tales series, and play a few puzzle games. By puzzle, I don't mean the usual 'move a block' but actual Tetris-like battles. The first volume features the pre-Symphonia cast, in square images, but the newer volume features the more recent series in cute full-body portraits.

Tales of Destiny: Cless makes a slight appearance in the world of Destiny. Er, that's all really.

Tales of Eternia/Destiny 2: In the Colesium, when you reach in the top of the battle, your guest fight would be Cless himself. He is quite difficult to fight, so best of luck if you make it. He is also assisted by Arche. Also, if either Meredy or Keel learns Shooting Star, sometimes, Arche might come up, and you temporarily control her in battle.

Tales of the Abyss: Mint is one of the guest characters, along with Rid, Philia, and Nanaly, in the Colesium (because there can't be a Tales game without it!).
